01 — Conversation
We start by listening.
Before plans or pricing, we sit down and talk through how you live, what your land asks for, and what would feel like home. Most projects begin with one long conversation.
Eight generations building custom homes across south-central Wisconsin — quietly, carefully, one family at a time.
How we build
Every Pelton home moves through the same four stages. No fine print, no surprises — just steady work, in plain language.

02 — Design
We work alongside the architect and designer you choose, or bring in trusted partners we know well. The drawings stay flexible until the layout, light, and feel are right.
03 — Build
Cody runs the site. Our crews are local people we've worked with for years. You'll know what's happening every week — fewer surprises, fewer delays, real craftsmanship at every stage.
04 — Move in
A walk-through, a punch list handled, and a real number to call when something needs attention. We have neighbors who've lived in their Pelton homes for thirty years — and we're still in touch.
Our story
From a homestead in 1907 to custom homes across Wisconsin — same family, same idea.
Pelton Builders has its roots in a Wisconsin homestead that dates back to 1907. For more than a century, eight generations of the Pelton family have built and lived on the same land in south-central Wisconsin — and that sense of place still shapes the way we build today.
The company in its current form was founded by Mark Pelton, who spent decades developing land, restoring the family's historic timber-frame barn, and building homes the right way for families across the region. Today the next generation — Luke and Cody Pelton — runs the day-to-day. Luke leads the projects and the client conversations; Cody runs the sites and the crews.
Over the years our work has included full neighborhoods like Greenfield Reserve and Stonefield Place, along with one-off custom homes on private land. Whatever the project, the approach is the same: slow conversations up front, careful work in the middle, and a real number to call long after move-in.
We build the kind of homes the next generation will be proud to walk into.
